Karyn has more than 17 years of experience writing exclusively about the security industry. As the former managing editor of Security magazine, she wrote about numerous industry topics and news stories, from school shootings and 9/11, to emerging technologies such as biometrics, smart cards, bomb detection, video, integration and more. When she became managing editor of SDM, she also became familiar with the distribution and installation side of the industry.
Since leaving the magazine in 2002, she has been a freelance writer in the security field. She has written articles for both Security and SDM, as well as security-related articles for a major healthcare publication. She has written numerous case studies that have appeared in major security publications, as well as articles and white papers for a leading CCTV manufacturer.
